I can’t stress hard enough how important it is to set the error_reporting to E_ALL and have a means to monitor the error messages (either by showing it directly on the browser, or redirect it to log file — but always and always check the log file every other second and every other one).
Unscientific experience could argue that this practice will increase your productivity by 40%, and increase your code quality by 20%, or even by 50% if you happen to be, like me, a careless programmer.

history note: wasn’t it D-day anniversary yesterday (or the day before, it’s 5 minutes into June 8 already). Does it mean it’s time to re-watch The Longest Day, D-Day Sixth of June, and Band of Brothers? Saving Private Ryan, too. What’s your favorite d-day film?

I can’t remember when was it the last time I had problem with disk quota on a web hosting. Nowadays we’re talking about Gigs of space, man, or at least a few hundreds of Megs.
But there’s this new website I’m working on, the hosting is just 65 MB.
“What?!”, a la David Letterman.
